In this statement, we explain what personal data we use, why we use it, with whom we share data and how you can exercise your privacy rights.
Who is responsible?

2. What data do we use?
- contact and order details, such as name, email address, delivery address, order number and chosen product;
- photos and instructions that you upload to create a sample and the ordered artwork;
- payment and transaction status; we do not receive or store complete card or bank details;
- account, support, return, complaint and review data when you use these features;
- technical and usage data, such as IP address, device, browser, cookie and interaction data.
3. Purposes and principles
We process personal data to:
- make a preview, execute orders, process payments and deliver products (execution of the agreement);
- handle questions, complaints, returns, fraud and security incidents (agreement, legal obligation and legitimate interest);
- comply with our administration and tax obligations (legal obligation);
- measure and improve the website and customer journey (consent where required by law, otherwise legitimate interest);
- inspiration and offers, only if you select the unchecked box yourself (permission). You can unsubscribe via any marketing email.
4. Service providers and transfer
We use specialist providers including Stripe for payments, Prodigi for production and shipping, Resend for transactional email and consent-based marketing, cloud and storage providers, AI image processors, PostHog, Meta, and Vercel. They receive only the data required for their work. Where data is processed outside the European Economic Area, we use appropriate safeguards such as an adequacy decision or approved standard contractual clauses.
5. Reviews via ValuedShops
When we invite you for a review via ValuedShops after an order, we share necessary information, such as your name, email address, order reference and information about the products ordered, with ValuedShops. ValuedShops uses this data to send the invitation, check the authenticity of store and product reviews, and manage the reviews impartially.
6. Retention periods
We do not keep data longer than necessary. In principle, we store tax order data for 7 years. We retain support, account, review and security data for as long as necessary for the relevant purpose and any legal claims. We only retain uploaded photos and generated files for as long as necessary to provide previews, orders, downloads, and support, and then delete or anonymize them according to our operational retention periods.
7. Your rights
You are entitled, to the extent permitted by law in your situation, to:
- access to your personal data;
- rectification of incorrect or incomplete data;
- elimination of data
- Restriction of processing.
- portability of data provided by you;
- object to processing on the basis of a legitimate interest and to direct marketing;
- withdrawal of consent, without invalidating previous lawful processing;
- information about and human intervention in solely automated decisions with legal effect. We do not make such decisions.
Email your request to support@paintyourfamily.com. We may ask for information to verify your identity and respond in principle within one month. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
8. Security and changes
We use appropriate technical and organizational security measures, including encrypted HTTPS connections and restricted access. We may update this statement when our services or legislation changes. The current version is always on this page.
